Welcome to my private practice site. Below you will find more information about my perspective on psychotherapy, as well as my approach and specializations. I look forward to speaking with you and answering any questions you might have about beginning the therapy process.
Having the necessary insight and tools we need to navigate our way through life's challenges is often the key to greater happiness and fulfillment. I believe that human beings naturally start from a place of health and resilience but when we encounter difficult or traumatic experiences, we can often get sidetracked by things such as self-doubt, anxiety, depression, fear and more. This can make life and relationships feel overwhelming, confusing and at times unmanageable. Therapy provides a safe space to explore and understand ourselves better while also developing the tools we need to move forward. Through this process, we can begin to heal from the past while creating a more intentional future.
I treat a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, C-PTSD, PTSD, Adult Children of Alcoholics/Addicts, relationship issues, life transitions, parenting support/skills, postpartum challenges, grief and loss. I work with individuals and couples.
I am a certified EMDR clinician and specialize in the treatment of trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD and subsequent relationship issues. I offer an eclectic approach to therapy, which draws from multiple theoretical orientations including EMDR, Attachment Theory, Ego State Therapy, Mindfulness, Insight-Oriented work and CBT. I bring a Feminist perspective to my work and value cultural competency. I also work from a relational perspective, which means I consider the therapeutic relationship to be an integral part of the process and the foundation for a successful therapy experience. We can work together to determine what will be the best fit for you.
